Express Entry is an online system that the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada use to manage applications for permanent residence for 3 programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program
Federal Skilled Trades Program
Canadian Experience Class
Each Applicant is assessed based on six selection factors:
You need documents, such as language test results and Education Credentials Assessment results to show that you’re eligible for Express Entry. Some documents take a long time to get, so you should get them ready now.
Step 3: Submit your profile
Your Express Entry profile is where you provide information about yourself to Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada.
If you’re eligible, you will be accepted into the pool of candidates.
You’ll be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. Your score is based on the information in your profile.
Step 4: Receive an invitation and apply for permanent residence
Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada will send invitations to apply to the candidates with the highest scores in the pool. If you are invited to apply, you’ll have 90 days to submit your application for permanent residence. However, it is better to submit a complete application at the earliest possible time to avoid missing the timeline because the timeline is not flexible.
Most times complete applications are processed in 6 months or less.
